Popcorn Ceiling Removal

Popcorn Ceiling Removal

Popcorn ceiling is widely regarded as a major issue in homes because it was usually made with a component called asbestos. This component was found to emit toxic fumes that are potentially dangerous to humans. Luckily they were basically banned in the United States back in 1977. That is actually a long time ago, but their production was banned on that year. They were known to be continually used in homes for a good number of years even long after the ban. It is not that if you see that you have popcorn ceiling you should immediately panic. The best thing that you can do though is, give us a call!

How Do I Know If I Am In Potential Danger?
As we have said this is not something that we believe people should go into a frenzy over. If you have a home though that was built quite a couple of decades ago the chances of you have this type of celling certainly do increase. Really the best thing that you can do is give us a call and we will have our team of pros take a look at the situation. From there we can give you a set of options on what you should get done next.

Removing With Extra Care
If we do have to go in and get through a complete removal process we are usually going to ask people to leave the home as we are going to want to close the area off at least while we are removing the ceiling. What we are going to be doing is literally scraping off the painted asbestos from the roof. As we have mentioned this is a process that is going to require extra care all the way around. So we don’t recommend that you try it on your own.

You Are Adding Value To Your Home
If indeed we find that you do have asbestos in your home getting this removal process done is something that will actually increase the overall value of your home. At the end of the day, you can make the argument that this is a process that is going to pay for itself in the long run. There is actually no real reason that we could point to, to keep the asbestos on your celling. We really see it as a safety measure that as we have said in the end is going to add value to your home so the removal is a total win-win scenario!

I Like The Look!
This is an argument that some people are going to try to make. What we can do if we find that indeed you do have asbestos in your
drop ceiling is to have them removed and then come in and replace the ceiling with one that can mimic the look of the old one. In this case, though you will know that the texture on the roof has been achieved through a completely different method that is not toxic in any way!
